Where did 2013 go?

For me, 2013 was AMAZING! I have a full time teaching job that I love, I was promoted to head coach for the gymnastics team, I was asked to be a PLT leader for one of the classes I teach, moved into my first apartment,  spent the year engaged to the greatest guy in the world, taught myself how to crochet, we got our first kitten (Dory) who is the cutest thing ever, and I lost 22 pounds!

I have to say that this year was probably the best of my life so far and I'm so excited for 2014 and what it brings!

I can't help but feel like it's unfair how amazing my life has been when so many people around me felt so much pain and sadness throughout the year. This year, I want to do more for other people. I want to volunteer at a local shelter, or somehow help people in need. I feel like it's important to give back to those who need us and I haven't done that much in my life. If you have any places you enjoy volunteering please let me know!

I also want to lose more weight. I've been getting annoyed with all of my Facebook friends complaining about "the crowded gym" and that they don't want those new years resolution-ers there. Well, I say, GO FOR IT! You have to start somewhere.  If I can lose 22 pounds, anyone can (unless you're skinny) and seriously, it wasn't that hard. I was absolutely ready to not be fat anymore and it was awesome watching the pounds come off the scale each week. I got to a point where I didn't even want to think about the foods I used to eat and I preferred to make healthier choices.

I signed up for weight watchers and I absolutely love it. Counting calories just wasn't working for me and I knew I needed something else. WW gave me that. In about 9-10 weeks I lost 22 pounds and have successfully maintained the past 2 weeks (which is actually hard to believe with all of the holidays but i'll take it!) I'm the type of person who needs a routine so being on winter break is very hard for me. Once we get back to school I'm going to get back on track and hopefully lose 8-12 more pounds.

I will be coaching, teaching, graduate school, and planning my wedding.

Bring it on 2014!
